Repeal Afirmative Action

Posted by misguided 573 days ago (Suggestion)
Since the current president has proven that a minority is capable of achieving all things, including being elected to the most powerful office in the world, on his own merits, it is my belief that there is no longer a need for the reverse discrimination that is forced by Affirmative Action. In the words of Alan Keyes, "Affirmative Action basically states that minorities are inferior and require "special treatment" in order to advance in society." If this is the case then the President did not advance to his position on his own merits, but rather by virtue of Affirmative Action's "special treatment" of minorities, as no member of a minority could possibly be elevated to such a position without the help that Affirmative Action provides. Healthy workplace bill

Posted by amcconway 562 days ago (Suggestion)
I am a victim of bullying in the workplace. One of my superiors abused her position, by demonstrating intimidating and disruptive behavior towards me. She coerced others to conspire with her, in order to terminate my position. Human resources ignored my complaints, as did corporate compliance. As a result, I lost my job. I filed a grievance, which is still pending. I was harassed for more than a year, and wrongfully discharged because of a bully. This occurred in the state of Florida. There are no laws , or unions to protect workers from such unfortunate circumstances. I encourage you to support the healthy workplace bill, in order to prevent those in higher positions from creating hostile work environments. Read More »

Here is a suggestion to get rid of Racism

Posted by silvereagle 478 days ago (Suggestion)
Here is the story I would love to see Explained by the President Obama Himself. This would really get the attention of the American People. It asks one question.

I have been wondering about why Whites are called racists, and no other race is.
Someone finally said it... How many are actually paying attention to this?

There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans.

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.
You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman' ... and that's OK.

But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner,
Gook, or Chink ... You call me a racist. You say that whites commit a lot of
violence against you... so Read More »

Repeal the WEP/GPO regulations

Posted by blhait 562 days ago (Suggestion)
It would be helpful and beneficial to those qualified to go ahead and repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO) in those states that are affected by these two regulations. It is not fair for those individuals to not receive the Social Security benefits that they worked so hard for and have earned because of so called "double dipping". This would get more money into the hands of those who are at retirement age. Most individuals who are eligible for SS are on a fixed income, so would benefit greatly from such a repeal. Read More »
I'm now an unemployed Bank worker. My savings are small and my credit card debt large.Being a female age 55 years old and partially disabled. I'm soon will join the vast majority of Americans with unemployment. If I have to Declare Bankruptcy. How with a fixed income be able to pay higher for these Home and Auto Insurances. My credit will be poor and they jack up the rates.I then can't keep my car to look for a job or be protected if something happens to my home.I don't have a College Education. I had to care for two families at a early age and there was no time or money. Please retract how credit is used.I know I'm not alone. Thank you for
listening to a scared American worry on how she will live
in the future. Read More »

How to Live on very little income when disabled.

Posted by jksalter 549 days ago (Suggestion)
To Whom It May Concern;
I want to pose a question about the amount of social security you are allowed to live on when you have filed joint taxes with a spouse, and come to find out that none of that credit has gone to the woman's share. I have been on soc security for 4 years now. I was injured at work, and it is a non repairable back injury. When I applied for my soc security benefits I found out all those years I showed no income paid in to mine. Why is this allowed to happen? It puts a real kick in the financial end of it all. You are barely allowed to live on what you get. I feel if you are a working spouse, and file jointly, you should not get short changed. We milked cows for some time, and I realize the checks came in his name only, but you should not have to lose out on every Read More »

Worker Bill of rights

Posted by Terrence 464 days ago (Suggestion)

In some manner, initiate a the first right of a "Worker Bill of Rights" which will protect workers from being randomly fired throughout the USA.

Fear of being randomly fired can create bad "trickle down" Karma and thus help stunt creativity in the work force. In the military people can not be randomly fired without due process. I suggest the same right for civilian employees.

Eliminate limitations of civil rights

Posted by amcconway 437 days ago (Suggestion)
I am a hetero sexual, single white female, of Christian faith, without any disabilities. I was the victim of discrimination while employed at a hospital in the state of Florida.
I believe that my manager, an old, unattractive and widely disliked female, hated me because I was young, pretty, and popular.
How could I possibly pursue litigation based on that? Perhaps I am mistaken in this line of reasoning. She may have hated me because I am Italian, or any other reason. Whatever her reason, my rights were violated. If I fell into a protected class, she would have never succeeded in sabotaging my livelihood. Read More »

Employee Free Choice Act

Posted by amcconway 437 days ago (Suggestion)
The Employee Free Choice Act is completely useless! There are already laws in place which supposedly prevent retaliation against workers who support unionization. Obviously, that isn't working.... Unions should be mandatory in all workplaces!!!!! That is the only way to avoid retaliation!!!! Read More »

What to do if you can?t sell your house

Posted by blueguru 336 days ago (Suggestion)
What should you do if selling your own home in a tough market is too difficult? Real estate agents and sellers across the country are having a tough time, but you may have more options if you?re selling your own home. Consider renting your home on a short-term basis to business travelers. Read More »

How to fix the gay rights issue

Posted by MRachels 265 days ago (Suggestion)
Marriage is the definition of man and woman joining.
I suggest that if some is in a same sex joining that it be called a new term "Garriage" Same sex couples can not be married because the definition of marriage is between a male and female but if there is a same sex joining it can be called Garriage or have another name but still be the same affect legally for the gay people of this world. Agencies are getting around the Veterans requirement by canceling and re-advertising announcements. My recommendation is to require Agencies to either make a selection or lose the FTE. Listed below is a recent response I received from an Agency. I am sure I scored higher than the others on the CERT and since I am a Vet, they couldn't hire any one else unless I agreed to decline the position which I've done in the recent past.

"This is to notify you that the position of Administrative Officer OESE-2009-0074 with the U.S. Department of Education (ED) has been canceled.

Thank you for your interest in employment with ED, and we wish you success in your future employment endeavors.

Linda Little"

President Obama, until you close this loophole, Vets will continue to be passe Read More »
