No More Taxes

Did you know that their is actually NO law ANYWHERE that states you actually have to pay taxes. Research it a little... Read More »
There are several organizations with members numbering in the millions that have long sought to replace the income tax with either a national sales tax or a flat tax. These organizations have put forth studies that show either alternative would be revenue neutral and produce as much revenue as the current income tax system which, as everyone knows, is labyrinthine and requires an army of attorneys and accountants to interpret.

The income tax in effect punishes production (the more you produce the more you pay) which has choked productivity in this country for so long that we can't imagine life without it.

This would be tremendously beneficial for the American economy. Read More »

Campaign Promise for Senior Taxing

Posted by BMaupin1 577 days ago (Suggestion)
During the 2008 Presidential Campaign I remember a speech where President Obama promised that there would be no tax on seniors up to an income level of $50,000.00. I think this promise also was that it would be retroactive to January 1, 2009. Of the retro date I am not certain but is a good idea. I have heard no discussion in the media or by the administration of this promise and its inclusi Read More »
a flat tax would be the fairest way for all americans and would make things so easy, eliminate many jobs trying to get around the existing tax structure, would actually help baalance the budget but that would be too easy for politicians to understand!!!!!!! Read More »

Forgive Bad Loans and Back Taxes

Posted by letsdoit 579 days ago (Suggestion)
The spirit of the American people is more open now than ever before in my lifetime. I think that Obama should ask Americans that are not hit as hard by today's economy to forgive debts if they can afford it. It can be any kind of debt at all, small or large. It can be telling a friend not to worry about paying you back. It can be a bank having a debt forgiveness lottery. Read More »

eliminate 10% tax on 401k

Posted by charleym 572 days ago (Suggestion)
Simple:

eliminate the 10% 401k premature withdrawal penalty. many americans need to tap these funds given current economic events. make it easier, without having to make a direct government payout.

better yet, make it retroactive! 1 yr? 3 yrs? 5 yrs? after all, this pain didnt just start yesterday..... Read More »
People who work under the tables, and illegals and drug dealers and hookers and betters all cheat by not paying taxes. Then the poor people who have to work all and pay income taxes and get a W2 get screwed.

Instead tax consumables that everyone uses, and extra high taxes on "pollution items" like energy and big trucks, especially the very big trucks that are tearing the hell out of our roads. Tax gasoline higher while it is still cheap and rebuild the country as I saw mentioned saw on another suggestion.

Greening the Tax Code

Posted by ttippett 577 days ago (Suggestion)
Dear President Obama,
Thank you for this opportunity for input.

It has been very disturbing listening to Republicans block the stimulus plan. If they were such wonderful money managers, I don't understand how over the course of the last eight years, we had a record deficit.

As a result of Republicans continuing to want tax cuts and Democrats who can't seem to pay their taxes as demonstrated by some of your appointees, I think the tax code needs a serious overhaul.

Please consider simplifying the tax code - let's call it "Greening the Tax Code" for we could certainly save paper and money if we downsized the IRS.

Go to a flat 10% tax for individuals and businesses - a one page form - regardless of income - high or low, no loopholes- no deductions. Even if you only m Read More »

Change the income tax to a consumption tax and get rid of all the cheaters.
If they purchase goods they pay the tax. Simple and straight forward. The big boys still get around the income tax.

People that receive welfare from the government should work for their money. I don't care if they are picking garbage off of the streets, reading books to children, sorting books in a library, etc. If the government is giving a person money, then the person should be working for it. I think if this were put into place, then a lot of people would either find a better paying job or stop taking free handouts in the form of welfare from hard working tax payers. Read More »

War on Drugs and Mexico

Posted by dweed 557 days ago (Suggestion)
Over the past few years I have traveled to Mexico many times. Violence is escalating there and beginning to spill over into the US from drug traffic and the profits made. Last year Mexico saw in excess of 6,000 murders related to this. This year is on track to exceed this number.
The illegal drug industry is fueled by profits from sales in the US and armed with weapons purchased in the US. Since drug interdiction has proven impossible in the 30+ years of our war on drugs, perhaps more focus should be put, publicly, on stopping the flow of money and weapons from the US to Mexico, and we should stand up, recognizing the distress this is causing the whole country of Mexico, and take some responsibility and speak in terms of partnering with Mexico a program to assist Mexico in stemming t Read More »
I am in a terrible dilemma. I purchased 3 condos is Vegas for 250K and now they are worth 100K each. First I think the government should force banks to implement loan modifications. Lenders are absolutely being ignorant and ridiculous and are unwilling to help unless you threaten them with a law suit with a lawyer. I already lost my 50k down payment and the lender does not even want to meet me Half way and lower the balance to 150k from 200k and lower my interest rate. They would prefer to take a short payoff of 100K NOW TELL ME HOW STUPID THAT IS!! WHO THE HELL IS MANAGING THESE LENDERS BECAUSE THEY SURE DON'T HAVE ANY COMMON SENSE. IF I short sell them then I get 3 1099s for 100k each. Now if I had that much money to pay taxes on 300k, I would be able to keep them. Please impl Read More »
Let's take a look at the economy and cost of living. My husband and I grossed 23,000 in 08. We live in a very high priced state. He worked the year full time fishing. He was paid as a 1099-misc employee and made $9,000.
I work full time. I travel to work on a bus making my days 15-16 hours long. We are in our 40's. We have no children thank the lord. We no longer own a car a home or anything to show for our years of struggling.
What once was a promising outlook on life and future has now become a nightmare. We have to pay taxes. Both to the federal government and our state. Where does this money come from? How can people making so little afford to pay taxes? I pay all year long. We still have to pay $800.00 to Uncle Sam and another 600.00 to our state? How????? As it is we spend $10 Read More »
Way to go guys: I just found out about your new taxes on the least likely to be able to pay people and I must say it was a trick right out of the Republican play book. Who would have thought that you guys would be forcing people who already cannot afford cigarettes, with all their additives and have chosen to use additive free tobacco and roll their own by buying tobacco by the pound and making their own cigarettes, would have been the target of unscrupulous lawmakers, by hitting them with a $25.00 per pound tax. These people are doing nothing illegal and are just trying to survive something that they may be addicted to brought on by the cigarette and tobacco companies in the past. Most of these people are Baby boomer's or veterans and some of them can't quit or have trouble quitting an Read More »

Tax Congressman for donations as income

Posted by tohara 490 days ago (Suggestion)
We have millions of dollars pouring into accounts that Senators and Representatives use to get re-elected. This money should be seen as income to them and be taxed. Why they can receive money and not be taxed and I pay tax on every single penny is not fair. Read More »
